Welcome to the third quarterly review of the year so far, I can’t believe we are almost at the end of August! This year has already been a great year for me and the months have flown by; I’ve been on some brilliant trips and still have some more to look forward to before 2015 is out.
I recently attended an SEO networking course which I learnt a huge amount from and I’ll be putting those tips into practise ready for the next review. In the meantime, here’s my social media round up for August so you can see how I’m doing with my quarterly targets!
Still my largest audience, my Trip Advisor account is continuing to grown with over 45,000 readers. I enjoy reviewing hotels, restaurants and attractions and always receive helpful votes on my write ups. I still use the site to check out hotels before I book and quite frankly I’d be lost without this site! My profile has now reached Top Contributor level and I’m keen to earn more badges and write more reviews to increase my readership. I’d love to reach 50,000 readers by 2016.
I find that my followers on Twitter are taking forever to grow, but they are definitely increasing which is a good sign- I’m almost at 900 now! I try to use relevant hash tags wherever possible and use images to make my tweets more visually appealing. I’ve also joined two weekly discussions, TravelCult and CultureTrav, which take place on Monday and Thursday evenings and are hosted by fellow travel bloggers. The topics vary week on week and I love connecting with other bloggers and sharing travel stories. I find that my interactions and followers generally increase each time I take part in these group chats so I’m going to make sure I don’t miss them! My target is to reach the big 1k before the end of the year.
I love my Facebook page and its really grown over the past few months with my total likes doubling to over 200 now! I enjoy posting links to relevant web pages and articles as Facebook allows you to upload images as well as links which visually looks fantastic. I’m a member of the group Girls vs Globe which helps massively to drive traffic towards my page and add to the number of total likes. We all interact well with each other on the group and I’ve a lot to be thankful to the girls for! I’m aiming for 300 likes by the time my final quarterly review goes live.
Probably my favourite social networking site, I’ve noticed a huge difference in the number of Insta followers since April. I’m almost at 700 now which is a great achievement for me as I’ve only had it since January! I love posting photos of my travels and enjoy the editing process to create those picture perfect snaps. I get a lot of likes on my images and always post relevant info back to my blog so I can drive more traffic there. Although the images don’t allow links to be added directly, I always add ‘link in bio’ to the caption to encourage followers to visit my blog. I’d love to reach 900 followers by the time 2016 comes around.
I still love this platform and use it semi regularly but not as much as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. As its much more professional, I’m limited to the amount of posts I can promote without it looking like I’m bombarding people’s news feeds! I tend to post just once a week on this, or just each time a new blog post is uploaded. My connections have indeed increased since my last review and I’m still aiming for 500 before 2016.
Page hits to my website are growing daily and have almost doubled since my last review in April. I’m also seeing a jump in the number of subscribers which is brilliant, I’m over the 1000 mark now! I enjoy reading other peoples WordPress accounts as other users often comment back and in turn leave their thoughts on my own posts which provides invaluable feedback to me. I’m hoping to have reached 7000 hits and 1100 subscribers by the end of the year.
If you’ve been following my blog closely over the past few weeks you’d know that I’ve recently joined The Culture Trip as a regular contributor for their London hub. I’m extremely proud that I’ve landed this role writing for a fantastic website and I’m so excited to continue working on my articles!
So that’s my quarterly report completed! The next time I post will be at the end of the year and I’m looking forward to seeing how much further my blog grows over the next four months. Thanks as always for your continued support!
Love Jess x
